Reporting Problems to the City
Posted by Josh on Sunday March 07, 2010 1:48 pm
Council Member Karin Uhlich Feb/March 2010 Newsletter included an article about SeeClickFix, a new service monitored by The City of Tucson that allows people to report problems such as potholes, graffiti, issues with abandoned autos and buildings, litter, and more.
After a bit of correspondence with various folks at the City and the SeeClickFix site, we´ve set up a section just for the Hedrick Acres Neighborhood at http://seeclickfix.com/hedrick-acres. The City has been amazingly responsive to the reports generated through this system. In the few weeks the Hedrick Acres section of this site has been active, we have filed several reports (pretty bad potholes on Mountain, Cherry, and Campbell) -- all of which were fixed within a week!
In order to create a report:
-
Go to http://www.seeclickfix.com/hedrick-acres.
-If you see an existing report of the problem you are reporting, vote for it to be fixed!
If you do not see a report of the issue you want to report, click the "Report an Issue" tab - Enter in the address of the issue or drag the pointer to where the problem is on the map on the page and click the "Go to Step 2" button
- Select the type of issue you want to report: Pothole, Graffiti, Litter, Abandoned Auto, Abandoned Building, Vacant Lot, Damaged Bus Shelter
- Provide a summary and description of the issue and your name and email address. You can even attach pictures of the problem if you want
- Click "Report Issue"
The issue will be reported to the SeeClickFix site. They, in turn, send a report to the City of Tucson for action. As the person who reported the problem, you´ll receive an email when there is any action on your report.
Additionally, they have a free application for your iPhone, Blackberry,
or Android device that will allow you to report issues (along with
pictures) anywhere in the city you can download at
http://seeclickfix.com/apps
In time we´ll be adding a method to the Hedrick Acres website that will
allow you to report neighborhood issues there.
